The top Big Ten RB #NFLDraft prospect, Journey Brown, may return to school, but he’s got some interesting numbers going for him that suggest he should probably head to the pros...mini-thread time...
First off, numbers aside, Journey Brown runs like this all the time. Angry, fast, and still somehow balanced.
Journey Brown‘s 2019 ranks among returning RBs with >100 carries:
YAC/RushAtt - 3rd
YPC - 5th
YAC/RushAtt on Inside Runs - 4th
YPC on Inside Runs - 3rd
YAC/RushAtt in 11 personnel - 2nd
YPC in 11 personnel - 3rd
Yes, I know Raw YPC is an OL stat, but he’s adding YAC too.

How does he fair against the Big 3 (Travis Etienne, Chuba Hubbard Najee Harris) in those same YAC/YPC stats?
He trails Etienne in every category, but is better than Hubbard & Najee in all of them.
Brown is a fast, strong, disciplined NFL ready runner that creates yards.

Lastly, thanks to Penn State’s offensive scheme, Journey ran 98% of his carries out of pretty prototypical NFL-style 11 & 12 personnel.
11 & 12 personnel account for ~80% of NFL offensive snaps.
Not a huge boost, but should be a flatter learning curve than many CFB backs.

Only area for concern might be his receiving ability/experience. That’s where you have to squint and just be okay with some question marks.
2019 Receiving Yd Market Share
Etienne 10%
Najee 7%
Chuba 7%
Journey 5%
That may cost him some draft capital. Still, Journey’s underrated.
