ancestral city in Iran.

Fasa is a small town in Fars, which dates back to the Achaemenian times.

It's mentioned in the Persepolis archives and is sister town to Darab (Darius Town- founded by Darius I).

Intriguingly Fasa may have meant Pasa, "City of the Persians."
funnily enough Fasa was considered "ancient/mythical" in the Khuda-nameh; the Sassanian text on the Kings of Iran

I'll use this thread as my "ancestry" thread as V & I have interesting lineages.

my (late) paternal grandmother was born in Karol Bagh, which of course was a heavily Muslim area.

She was born a Bahá'í but her father hailed from Naugawan Sadat in UP and was a Shi'ite Sayyid
Naugawan Sadat & Amroha are, what I joke to be the "factories of Sayyid"; they are usually Naqvi Sayyids (I can't remember her maiden names; incidentally both my grandmothers have very "Mughal names""

I have a lot to write on my ancestry & V's now that I have the ancestry thread
