I& #39;ve mentioned it before, but it still not an easy thing to talk about it.

I posted this the other day.
Its relevant to today& #39;s events in a simple way.

I was arrested on a drug charge.
The only reason I& #39;m not sitting prison is kamala harris and the work she did on reform.

In 2016, I was living in CA.
I got kinda wrapped up in some shit I shouldn& #39;t have, with people I shouldn& #39;t have.
I got arrested on a fairly serious drug charge. It wasn& #39;t the wnd of the world, but I wouldn& #39;t cooperate.

So they threw the book at me.

I eventually took a deal for whatever the probation dept recommended for jail time, plus 3 years probation. I was scared shitless.
DA asked for the guideline minimum which would have been 3.5-5 years.
Probation recommended at 1-3 years, but at least a year...

The judge however didn& #39;t listen to any of em.

She specifically cited the justice reforms in the previous few years, and said she simply couldn& #39;t justify throwing me in prison over a whopping 5g of cocaine in that context.
She gave me 30 days and suspended the rest.

That wouldn& #39;t have happened without people like kamala harris. That wouldn& #39;t have happened without people like her, and the judge who was empowered by her, standing up and saying "this isnt right, people deserve a chance".

The reality is, I fucked up. I made some really dumb mistakes. And instead of just locking me up for it, they gave me a chance and gave me the tools to at least try and get my life back in order.

It hasn& #39;t been easy, but I wouldn& #39;t be here today otherwise.
