It hasn't happened since 1936, but a reminder that if an NHL game goes to a sixth overtime, they drop...the second puck.
Per rules, in the event of a seventh overtime - which has NEVER happened - five pucks are in play and a face off is taken simultaneously at all five face-off circles, with each team playing 15 players (plus goaltender) at once.
Rules for an eighth overtime - which, again, has never happened in the NHL - are sealed inside a red envelope which has not been opened since 1917.
Just put one fan in those stands to yell "SHOOT IT!" and this game is long over, BTW.
