Tech stack for this book launch:

- static website on @netlify
- Shopify buttons for embedded checkout experience
- @Luludotcom Xpress integrated directly into Shopify for printing and fulfillment
- @podia for digital fulfillment
- @convertkit for email, natch
- @zapier glue https://twitter.com/alexhillman/status/1293345132151017473
Margins obviously vary % wise between Kindle, our own digital book fulfillment, and paperback copies but average margin is running around 62%.

Not bad considering 64% of all copies sold are paperbacks.
This is also all.....pre-sales.

Presales are just the wind up and represent people who are willing to pay for a product they can't have yet.

Nothing is guaranteed but I'm guessing that the wave of sales once people can get books instantly will be even bigger.
This launch would have been stressful beyond my comfort levels if I had to order 5000 books and hope they sell (let alone deal with shipping and fulfillment complexity).

Print and fulfillment on demand really is a game changer for independent publishing.
Even being able to confidently launch and say "yep we can ship you a book TO NEW ZEALAND oh and it just costs $8 to get it there." 🤯
$4.99 to ship anywhere in the US, or $12.99 expedited.

$7.99 to ship basically anywhere around the globe.

It's not Prime, but I'm not Bezos and I like to consider that a good thing.
