The 2020 presidential election is going to either completely destroy America or FINALLY teach Americans how to compromise and work together for a positive outcome — nobody’s ideal candidate was Joe Biden & nobody’s ideal VP was Kamala Harris.

But this is where we are.

And instead of belittling them, undermining them and bemoaning the fact that they aren’t our ‘ideal’ team, progressives, Democrats and everyone who wants the US to exist beyond 2021 is going to have to grow up, compromise and move forward.

That’s what winning looks like.

It’s rarely ideal. It’s never perfect. But you do what you can with what you’ve got and you play as many smart cards as you’re able while being flexible.

Biden + Harris 2020: IT’S TIME TO GROW UP.

Nobody is saying we can’t dream. Nobody is saying we can’t imagine our perfect candidates in the perfect race during perfect circumstances in a perfect world — unfortunately, that’s not how it works.

People and life and politics are not perfect.

And we have work to do.

First step is getting EVERY SINGLE ELIGIBLE PERSON YOU KNOW REGISTERED TO VOTE.

Call them, text them, mail them, email them, WhatsApp, FB, IG, balloons, airplane sky message, billboard, I do not care — GET THEM REGISTERED.

2: make sure you’re registered, that you’ve requested a ballot, that all your information is correct — we cannot fuck this up.

Vote early, get it counted. Mail it in early and encourage everyone you know to mail theirs in early, too. Reclaiming and re-establishing the legitimacy of this democratic republic will mean prioritizing voting, protecting the right to vote and helping the people you love vote.

4: SUPPORT THE @USPS.

Buy stamps, mail postcards, pre-pay for packages you know you’ll send during the holidays this year or even just tell your local postmaster and postal delivery person how much they mean to you (at a safe distance).

It matters. Our democracy depends on it.

5: do NOT let the bullshit get the best of you. Don’t get weighed down in the less-than-ideal nonsense and keep your eye on the prize — taking this motherfucking country back.
