So @JasonGregor called me out (fairly) for being vague and painting everyone with a wide brush so here's the things I'm bitching about.

Spec (of course). Never the guys who give away the leads the top 6 create "because culture" (1/
Then Matty giving two worst goalies in the play in round an easy pass. Apparently every other goalie makes only easy saves and not the tough ones and causing one goal and missing the next two save isn't an issue (2/
In terms of having something in print to quote and show the list is thin, its mostly the talking heads on the various shows and its incredibly hard to get proof for writing.

Rishaug (who I like) seems to focus on individual plays where the best players fail and not the overall picture.

"This guy out scored the competition 66%-33% but look at what he missed in this play" doesn't wash, nor is it good analysis. (4/
Every player makes mistakes, even Bergeron and Toews. They had (in their prime) Seabrook/Keith and Crawford and Chara and Rask/Thomas behind them to keep that mistake from going in the net.

McDavid and Drai don't have that kind of help. (5/
CHI killed a bad EDM team in game 1. EDM responded by beating CHI soundly in game 2.

Games 3 and 4?
McDavid: +2 5v5
Drai: Even 5v5
Bottom 6: -2 5v5

Is this enough to call those two for their leadership, failings and what they aren't good at yet? (6/
If some of their mistakes don't go in the net they're not noticed. Its not written about, no one remembers it.

But they went in the net so we hear about how the need to lead and have a "Yz moment"

Maybe they just needed a save or a Dman to have their check? (7/
I'm angry that EDM shit the bed and so are they, but blaming the best players, who didn't lose the goal battle for the loss is missing the big picture and pointing the fingers in the wrong direction.

(8/
I'm old enough that I remember these same people blamed Hemsky, Petry, Hall etc from previous teams for the failings of bad rosters and I'm pretty fed up.

The best players are rarely the problem.

Do some work and talk about what the problem actually is. (9/9)
