On my 4th attempt with Nier Automata, maybe I& #39;ll get past the first 3 hours this time. I like so much about this game, but I never stick with it. I& #39;m really just the worst
Had my first "holy shiiit" moments which was prompted by nothing other than finding out that the HUD options aren& #39;t in the settings, they& #39;re in your Pod& #39;s chipset loadouts. So good.
The way the Nier Automata& #39;s soundtrack seamlessly transitions between different tracks or different versions of the same track rules. It& #39;s ridiculously smooth every time
That second Goliath fight is wild, but then they combined it with one of my favorite game things which is "take a familiar area and radically/irreversibly change it"
I& #39;m now collecting stamps on a prize card in the machines& #39; amusement park
Nier Automata is very very good, I like it a lot
Nier Automata is very very good, I like it a lot
Nier& #39;s side stuff isn& #39;t Witcher 3 level or anything in terms of depth and quantity, but it never feels like I& #39;m wasting my time. I just feel kinda compelled to do it all, which is something that rarely happens for me in games like this
The end of that fight in the mall when you& #39;re heading into the forest, yo I know that guy hey it& #39;s That Guy
I& #39;m at the Nier Automata forest castle level, I& #39;m at the Nier Automata Metroidvania level, I& #39;m at the combination Nier Automata forest castle and Metroidvania level
WEAPON TREASURE HUNT, NIER IS GIVING ME A WEAPON TREASURE HUNT OH GOD YES
Can& #39;t get over how thoughtful Nier Automata feels in its design. Almost nothing is just there to be there, everything feels so handplaced and deliberate
This game just kicked me in the face with a Metal Gear Ray in Revengeance level fight holy shit
The last couple hours of this game have been drewscanlonblinking.gif front to back
I think I& #39;m just about done with route A. Apparently I accidentally went past the point of no return because I got locked out of a bunch of side quests, but I think I get another chance to do them in route B (hopefully)
ROUTE B.
WHAT.
WHAT.
Started finding stuff about Project Gestalt and was very worried it& #39;d spoil the original Nier for me, but it& #39;s all written in a way that doesn& #39;t give anything away and also makes me a million times more curious about that game
He still won& #39;t look my way.
He still won& #39;t look my way.
He still won& #39;t look my way.
He still won& #39;t look my way.
He still won& #39;t look my way.
He still won& #39;t look my way.
He still won& #39;t look my way.
I wish I& #39;d played this game so much sooner
Wrote this piece yesterday about why Automata& #39;s world is so engrossing and exciting to me https://twitter.com/QuestLogging/status/1295148543850811393?s=19">https://twitter.com/QuestLogg...
I didn& #39;t include it in the post, but I think BOTW is another game that hits this specific feeling really well, but in its own way. Once you know Hyrule you *know* it, but even then you& #39;re constantly hit with "oh my god that was there THE WHOLE TIME?!" moments
Mail just came with this big lad in it, ty @BullMoose you the best
