Here’s a thread about cooking halfway-decent hibachi from home.🧵
You can definitely use frying pans and regular spatulas to cook everything in this thread (it’s how I started!) but I recommend using a propane grill with the @LittleGriddle to get that restaurant-style taste.
First, prep your meats & veggies!

✅ Clean and slice your meat, white mushrooms, zucchini, onions, & broccoli into bite-sized chunks.

✅ Cook 2 cups long-grain rice in a cooker (Dash cooker is $20!)

✅ Mince/Dice 1/2 an onion & a few baby carrots.

✅ 2 eggs

✅ Peas
After prep, heat up your grill (or pans!). Once it’s hot, splash on some high-heat-friendly avocado oil and begin searing your minced onions/carrots alongside your mixed veggies.

Isolate the minced mixture because we’ll mix it with rice later. ❤️
As your veggies cook and begin to drool, flip them using your long-spatulas. Regular spatulas will work but it’ll be a bit more difficult to manage.

Spinkle on your favorite seasoning. I like Kikkomen soy sauce and salt & pepper, but it’s totally up to you!
Your veggies are ready to come off the grill once their juices are simmering. If you prefer seared veggies, press on them a bit and let them sizzle for a while. Then relocate to a bin and cover them to keep ‘em warm.
Next, cook the meats! (If you’re a vegetarian you can skip this part). Once your meats are looking seared and all-the-way-cooked, relocate them to a bin and cover ‘em up.

Fam’s in town, so we had pineapple-chicken sausages.
Next, spread out your minced veggies, pour on a little oil or butter, and cover them up with white rice.

Toss it around with your spatulas until the minced veggies & rice are well-mixed.

Then, cook your 2 eggs until they’re scrambled and mix it evenly into the rice.
Finally, season the rice with whatever you like! I use soy sauce and pepper because im a simple Caucasian, but it’s totally up to you!

Relocate to a bin once the rice is as seared/dry/moist as you like.
Serve with Yum Yum sauce or ginger sauce and enjoy! But before you do, post a picture of your masterpiece and tag me in it!
Final tips:

✅ If you use a griddle, pick up a scraper!

✅ Cleanup is easier when you cook with lower temperatures.

✅ You don’t need fancy tools to do this, but your small investments will pay for themselves within 3-4 meals.

Happy cooking!
