Spending time with the cuzzies from the US, the differences between the Gujarati/Indian diaspora in the US and NZ, UK, etc. is fascinating. Wealthiest demographic in the US, most definitely not elsewhere. Also oddly traditional in the US, unfortunately mostly with sexism

Whenever I visit, the relis always try to convince me to move to the 'land of opportunity' and open a business. Some of them even vote Republican. So different.

Some NZ Indians are embarrassingly into integration, but large sections of the US Indian population have bought into the (for most but maybe not Indians, dead) "American dream" to a nauseating extent. It's no wonder some will easily be coopted into the political establishment
