What I've heard from LEOs in the area: initial calls came in saying teens were beating homeless dude with skateboards. Teens walked to bus stop. Homeless dude followed and pulled a knife. Buffalo Wild Wings started watching and called police. Cops were told "HE has a knife"... https://twitter.com/RexChapman/status/1292831429957746690
at the bus stop. Homeless dude leaves. Cop's do a basic felony stop due to the possibility of a deadly weapon. Teens are detained and let go. Assault with a deadly weapon warrants may be issued for the teens due to several witnesses seeing them beating homeless dude...
Homeless dude catching a warrant for brandishing a knife. THIS IS NOT FACT, YET. JUST WHAT I'VE BEEN TOLD BY PEOPLE WHO WORK UP THERE.
With that being said, if officers are told a deadly weapon is on scene and they don't know who has it, I see no problem with how this was handled.
