Here’s a thread of some art advice/tips that I’ll be updating periodically:
I’ve seen alotta debate over which color wheel/set of primaries makes up the true spectrum of light and color, whether it be RYB, RGB, or CMYK. If you wanna get the most out of your paints having both warms/cools of each primary helps! Here’s my preferred primaries & color wheel:
Zinc/transparent white is a consumerist lie.

Titanium white is your holy grail and all you really need If you want the same effect as zinc white just use titanium sparingly in your mixes with the addition of your paint medium of choice. It retains as much chroma as you allow
Contrary to popular belief, using black paint straight from the tube is not a sin LMAO. Just use it sparingly! Bc tube black is inherently neutralizing, when mixed w other paints it mutes them. It does not muddy them/turn paints brown. Yes I will argue w your professors over this
There are tons and tons of color combinations you can choose from to create color harmony in your palette but my favorite is the 60:30:10 rule! 60% base/dominant color, 30% secondary and/or adjacent color, and 10% accent color. You see this ratio pretty often in cinematography!
