When she was younger, our foster girl’s school employed a mentor for her. When she moved to high school, her mentor wanted to keep in touch.

Lots of professionals were anxious but we were keen for our foster daughter to have people willing to invest in the long-term. THREAD >>

She has stuck by our foster daughter and has been a huge support to our fostering family.

She ‘babysits’ for us regularly, comes to tea, helps with maths homework and we have persuaded the high school to employ her as a mentor for our girl.

The moral of this story is a simple one:
