The whole point of the Biden campaign, and this particular moment in American history, is that the particular people involved are less important than a structural commitment to remaking the American federal government to meet the challenges of the coming era
It doesn't matter who the vice president is if there's no rebuilding of state capacity, rooting out corruption, and institutional redesign
None of these people are my first choice, and they're less important than stocking the federal government with several generations' worth of civil servants who can rebuild it into something with resilience, competence, and a commitment to long-term planning
If Biden wins and doesn't do that, or doesn't win, it's all irrelevant anyway
