I learned a few things yesterday when I went semi-viral by responding to a well known internet troll. A thread.
1. Just because you’ve chosen words that are ironic and using personal anecdotes doesn’t mean others will find it funny or perceive it as humor
2. Strangers are very willing to crucify others online (myself included) by taking the things they’ve said out of context

3. Humor & funny gifs will forever be the way to combat toxicity. It’s also a good medium to show others that the things you said were not intended to be harmful and that you’ve learned from your mistakes
4. There are still kind-hearted human beings who see personal growth

4. Cont. for what it is, a constant changing in day to day life.
5. People doubt the viability of grammatically correct sentences when it gets too long for their liking.
6. A small percentage of people (10%) actually looked at my profile to discover I had red hair

In closing, I came out red hot (ha, see what I did there?) and shouldn’t have been so harsh on a stranger on the internet. With that being said, people will blindly and publicly ridicule someone they’ve never met for not being a part of their cool kids group. That’s ridiculous.
