There’s been much focus on that first June debate between Biden & Harris.

But in the months after, she went a different angle—as I think this September interview reflects. It’s hard not to see the broadness of her message fitting in with what Biden camp is already operating on. https://twitter.com/iansams/status/1170355000591245312
To note, voters, including the quite engaged ones, struggled to identify where Harris stood politically or on policy.

Slow to define healthcare reform position, slow to release criminal justice plan & explain prosecutorial bckgnd, stumbled to detail school disparity solutions.
Harris, instead, strategically opted to focus her campaign around generally-popular proposals: Closing the gender pay gap, a federal investment into teacher pay, passing executive orders for gun control reforms, etc. https://twitter.com/VaughnHillyard/status/1293295851457126401?s=20
Kamala Harris, through her 10+ months on trail, was never viewed by voters as the leader of a major, defining policy effort or the owner of a "lane."

(Yes, there were proposals -- I'm talking about voters' view of Harris during those 10+ months). https://twitter.com/VaughnHillyard/status/1293286423953412096?s=20
But instead, Kamala Harris was always ready to debate the Trump ticket.

She had a stump speech on "truths" & would offer an exact breakdown of contrasts with the Trump Administration.

The foremost reason voters would tell us they considered voting for Harris is because they viewed her as the candidate who could best go "toe-to-toe" with Donald Trump.

She turned to her "prosecute the case" message on that. https://twitter.com/VaughnHillyard/status/1175175847445192705?s=20
Kamala Harris also never quite wholly introduced herself.

Folks knew her from the CapHill hearings. Folks knew she was from California & that she was a "prosecutor."

But Harris, who didn't enter w/ high name ID, hardly broke out the more personal layers that led her to run.
In summary, there's:
A) A lot of room for Kamala Harris to introduce her backstory to the country.
B) The opportunity for her to "prosecute the case" against four more years of Donald Trump, as she repeatedly outlined while running during the Democratic primary.
