Can't Believe This. - DkBk AU

Heavy angst, crying, hurt/comfort, eventual happy ending

Katsuki can't hear anything.

He can't feel anything, apart from his hands shaking.

Actually, his whole body is shaking.

Why aren't there sparks coming out of his hands? He's sweating, isn't he? Where are the fucking sparks!

Nevermind the sparks, he thrusts out a hand at some building, but no explosion comes put of his palm.

He's dreaming, he has to be.

But this dream feels so real...

"Kacchan!"

Katsuki ignores the call. He's constantly trying to do something with his palm, please let put some sort of a spark, anything!

Still nothing comes out.

"Kacchan, fuck-" Deku yells again, diving towards him and doing a barell roll just as a villain tries to hit the both of them.

"Kacchan, snap out of it! What's wrong?!" Deku asks, and Katsuki can only look up at him, tears in his eyes, his body shaking violently.

Deku's green eyes widen.

/Shit./

"Wait here Kacchan, let me go fight this villain with the rest, and then I'll be back, okay?"

No response, just a blink from the blonde.

Sighing with regret that he has to leave his boyfriend there, in a ruined building, he runs out and lands a kick on the villain.

Katsuki still can't believe this.

The fucker had a quirk that could erase quirks from existence...

Katsuki doesn't have his Explosion quirk now.

He can't fight villains anymore. He can't be a hero anymore. He can't be number 1 hero...

He's...

A quirkless loser.

Just like Deku- no, Izuku had been.

A sob bursts it's way out of Katsuki's throat as he buries his face in between his legs, still shaking.

His dreams are fucking hopeless. Everything is just pain to him.

Why. Why him?!

He knows he was an asshole to Izuku, his boyfriend, in middle school, but he's gotten better, hasn't he?

He still yells and swears, but not much now!

He even cooks for the class on weekends!

Must be the Universe being cruel to him...

Just as he let's out another sob, a hand is placed on his shoulder, so he looks up to see Izuku.

"Kacchan..." the boy mutters, a sad look falling across his face as he kneels down to look into teary eyes.

A sniffle.

"I'm fucking quirkless."

A hiccup.

"Just like you had been."

A wail of despair.

"Kacchan, no, it'll be okay! Please don't cry!"

Katsuki just glares at the boy, although his teary eyes don't make him look that intimidating at all.

"It won't be okay! I can't be a hero anymore! My dream to be number one hero is ruined! How do you expect me to think everything will be okay?!"

Izuku frowns and let's out a sigh. "I know. I know how you feel. But it will get better Kacchan. I promise." Izuku tries to reassure, the blonde just giving a weak sniffle before laying his head on the smaller's chest.

/How can it get better though, huh? Just gonna randomly get back my quirk? This ain't no fucking story, shitty nerd./

Everyone is back at the dorms. It's raining. Luckily, or not, from all the crying Katsuki had done, he had fallen asleep.

"How is he doing?" Kirishima asks, always concerned about his friend, even if the blonde repeatedly told him they weren't friends.

Izuku gives him a sad smile, "not good. I guess from all the bullying back in middle school, he thinks it's the Universe punishing him."

The red head nods, "ah, that's understandable."

"You shouldn't be feeling sorry for him at all! This is revenge! This is giving him a piece of his mind for all the bullying he did to you! And to us!" Mineta shrieks, some of the girls rolling their eyes.

"Actually, Mineta, he's never actually /bullied/ us. He shouts obscenities at us, sure, but that's when were on his nerves. He's improved alot." Mina replies, glaring at the short boy with a smug smirk on her face.

Mineta just scoffs at her.

"Oh, sure. Defend the bully. He told Midoriya to /kill/ himself! Your ignoring that part!"

"That was in middle school! Kacchan has changed!" Izuku yells, fury bubbling inside of him. Who does Mineta think he is? As if he cares about everyone here, he's just a pervert!
