Walked into my house yesterday after getting off work and my best friend was there unexpectedly. She had the kids in time out and looked exhausted. I didnt think much of her being there, its really not weird, so I went to make my sandwich that I usually eat after work.
Took me just passing by her to know two things beyond a shadow of a doubt. One: she& #39;d been up all night and day (she works nights, and sometimes days at a second job) and two: she had a headache. How did I know these things? Because she& #39;s been my bestfriend since we were young.
Because I know when her head hangs slightly, to match the way her eyes droop, that she& #39;s drained, and i know if she& #39;s lacking patience for the kids, or noises in general, it means she& #39;s tired. I also know that if she absent minded rubs her index finger knuckle in circles
On her forehead, just a brief touch, almost unnoticeable, that her head is hurting her, alot. So when I walked by her to get to the kitchen I asked her if she& #39;d like a sandwich, and I made hers first though id been the one who just got off work.
Then I gave her headache medicine without even inquiring if she did indeed have a headache, because she& #39;d probably brush it off anyway. She didn& #39;t say anything but I knew she was grateful.

This is what you have to go up against to love my best friend. The bar is pretty high.
