what is feminism ?
feminism is a movement that believes men and women deserve equality in all opportunities, treatment, respect and social rights. many feminists acknowledge social inequality based on gender and stop it from continuing. (definition from http://study.com ).

there are different types of feminism: radical feminism, socialist feminism, cultural feminism, liberal feminism, intersectional feminism, eco-feminism, visionary feminism and transnational or global feminism.

here are some definitions you should also be aware of because it can be discussed when talking about feminism:
patriarchy- a system where men have all or most of the power and authority in a family, society or group.
sexism- prejudice & idea that women are inferior to men.

why do we need feminism ??
well here’s a list of ways women are being mistreated:
-femicides going on in turkey and mexico.
-indigenous women are going missing and being murdered in canada.
-some muslim women are forced to wear the hijab by family or by some country laws.

-abortions were banned or are still being considered to possibly be banned in some countries and states.
-according to statistics women are more likely to be r*ped, assaulted,etc

-women r*pe victims normally do not get justice and their experiences are invalidated.
-black women die at a higher rate during child birth.

now these are just some instances of what women are going through across the world, but if you research i’m sure there are many more. if you would like further detail on the things i have said you can easily search it up and be given with a lot of information on it.
i would also like to say that in no way am i saying men do not face injustices of any sort, in fact feminism also talks about the struggles men’s face. i just talked about women’s issues in response of ‘women are already treated equally’ when we all know they are not.

wanted to add to this thread again, why we need feminism:

- female entrepreneurs receive less funding and investments.
- women make less than their male counterparts.
