The biggest scam twitter ever pulled was masking cliques as “community”
At a very basic level community requires holding people accountable (including your favorite mutuals) and having space for growth and learning (even for ppl you don’t like). Every “community” I’ve seen here continually fails to meet that simple concept.
Like I hate to break it to you but if you’re on group chats telling people to dogpile on someone bc they’re annoying you, it’s a clique. If your letting people get away with problematic things bc y’all are part of the same little group, it’s a clique.
Community requires work. Community extends beyond friendship and likability. Community is learning and teaching. Community is compassion and accountability.
Community is radical. Cliques that emulate the high school fantasy you never got to live out are not. Call a spade a spade.
