How I went From a Poultry Farm boy to building a multi million naira online business.

My name is Stanley Esdee-David,

I am the first child in a family of six.

I studied Petroleum Engineering in FUTO, but while in school I was unhappy and depressed, even though my GP was good. (4.90 in 100lvl)

I hated school but loved learning and wanted something more.

My father had instructed me never to do business in school, asking me to focus on my studies.

But because I hated begging for money, I started branding and selling bedsheets.

I made some money, got excited and went all in.

I started mini importation...

Started with 10 wrist watches bought for 1k each and sold for 10k.

I had a friend at 'ama hausa' in Owerri who had a bureau the change.

He called in his friends and they bought 8 instantly.

But soon a series of bad decisions almost wrecked me and left me completely broke.

The desire for more money saw me invest in different businesses that failed.

I was deep in debt.

My ecommerce business had collapsed,

a friend had run away with over =N=500,000 that I invested in a business,

and I lost about two million naira trapped in SWISSGOLDEN.

All this plunged me into a huge and terrible debt mess

I sunk into a dark hole of depression, suffered low BP and was estranged from my parents,

broke up with my girlfriend of 6 years.

To get my life back on track, I looked for any hustle.

Remember I was a graduate

I worked as a farm boy in a poultry farm.

Yes, I was cleaning the faeces of fowls and pigs I wasn't being paid.

I was squatting with my friend, Kedike, who also worked there.

Working there was my way of showing him gratitude!

At some point in your life, you will need a destiny friend.

I dedicated myself to learning how to make money online.

I didn't have money, so I always subscribed to the mtn midnight browsing of =N=25....

Every night, I'd binge watch videos on affiliate marketing, network marketing, ecommerce, dropshipping and many more.

I started developing skills.

Copywriting especially.

I opened a new fiverr account, (I had one in 2015 that got closed) did a few jobs,

and my account got banned.

I made some money, but everything got trapped. Back to square one.

I didn't give up I continued building skills

I knew I could write, so I focused so much on copywriting. (In 2015, I won @Realtypointltd writing contest, and several other contests)

I began to pitch friends on Facebook to help them write sales letters.

My facebook account got hacked, I had to open a new account, back to square one

But one thing that kept me going: a stubborn desire to prove myself

I already found it hard to beg. So it was succeed or die!

Eventually I cracked the code.

I began to deploy my skill at every opportunity.

A few copywriting jobs here and there.

I made a few bucks, gathered it together and started importation again.

I built a men's brand where I sold Men Sex enhancement products. It thrived.

Then I started studying how to market and sell online.

My business took off when I understood and applied the principles of online marketing!

With this skill, I created systems that helped me sell my offers at scale.

With the skills I had-

copywriting, content marketing, public speaking, FB ads, Marketing/Sales-

I charged high fees, and people paid.

My life changed!

I disciplined myself and started teaching all I knew with every opprtunity.

Teaching makes you better!

Today, I have fought depression & fear to a standstill and I have dedicated my life to helping others

I want you to know that no matter what you go through, you can come out strong.

People won't give a shit about you when you're broke.

Just succeed. You'll see them honour you.

Invest in yourself. Read books, attend trainings, go for seminars, buy courses.

Build your mind, build skills.

By all means, keep learning.

It will pay off someday!
