Why this stuff is bad: it's let the BBC and others do a "Priti Patel vs ice cream" story instead of talking about the actual issue.

We should not have ice cream companies in the middle of life and death political debates. It helps nothing. Hope it sold them some tubs.
To the people who think their ability to recount the founders’ story for Ben & Jerry counts against me here: nope.

They haven’t been running the company for 26 years. They sold 20 years ago and have zero involvement. The CEO is a Unilever exec. It is *all* marketing.
