Tyneside Cinema has inexplicably released a statement about their "independent" review. I've got some views. I'll keep it short.

1. They've started referring to this as a "HR review." An interesting shift in language which diminishes: rape, sexual harassment & bullying. 1/6
2. Secondly, and this really pisses me off. None of this is accessible in any way. Where aren’t their ALT descriptions of the text on those images they’ve attached? Why isn’t this entire statement on a web-page that can be read by a page translator? 2/6
I’ll tell you why. Because they think they’re fighting a war on Twitter, they’re prioritising reputation above doing the right thing. There is nothing on their website, why not? It is not in their interests to do this properly, inclusively or cast a wide net of comms. 3/6
3. Why is all this branded Tyneside Cinema? That does not give the impression of independence. And on a very basic level, it just doesn’t make sense when Dave of Turning Moment is talking in the first person. CHRIST. 4/6
4. Everything here clearly states the findings of the review will not be made public. So, that’s donors, patrons, friends, me, you - we won’t know the findings. A bastion of civic cinema, community and inclusivity only when it suits, eh? 5/6
Finally, the typos and grammar. I simply cannot even.

Follow @savetyneside, they’ve got this down better than me.

Don’t let this slip from the timeline or your minds - this type of stuff happens in cinemas ALL OVER THE COUNTRY. It's not acceptable and we can stop it. 6/6
