***THREAD***

Went to a nearby retail park today. In one of the shops, behind the till, was a young, familiar face. Then it hit me. It was the same young lady @ohlottie told me she saw a while back. I was chuffed to see her!
The reason I was so chuffed is because she was a 6 or 7 year old girl when I first met her 12 and a half years ago. I was volunteering as a TA in a year 2 class. Later on that same year, I got a job as a TA and worked at the school for a number of years so knew the girl well.
She was one of those children that you worried about because she struggled socially and academically. I had a little chat with her. She was happy I remembered her even though she did not remember me. She definitely remembered @OhLottie teaching her and seeing her a while backhttps://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="😊" title="LĂ€chelndes Gesicht mit lĂ€chelnden Augen" aria-label="Emoji: LĂ€chelndes Gesicht mit lĂ€chelnden Augen">
It was lovely to see her doing real world stuff. She seemed confident and she told me she was starting uni in September!
The point of this thread is to remind myself never to put ceilings on children. I sometimes feel like I might push the children I reach too hard but seeing the young lady in question strengthened my resolve that come September, I must continue to have high aspirations for...
... ***ALL*** children, regardless of prior attainment, background ect becuase if we don& #39;t do it, who will?
Should say children I teach https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="😬" title="Grimasse schneidendes Gesicht" aria-label="Emoji: Grimasse schneidendes Gesicht">
