last night I had a great convo with my 16 year old daughter. We talked about the song "Wap". She loves it btw which I assumed she would. But it allowed me to open up to her and talk about when I was her age I listened to Snoop, Too Short, Quik, to name a few

I love that she freely loves the music she does. Its then my job as her dad to talk about it and parent her but i would be a hypocrite if I tried to police the art she fucks with. So not only did we talk about "Wap" we talked about City Girls and a few other rappers

I told her if she loves all these popular female rappers who are dope she should go back and listen to Trina and Lil Kim among others who are the GodMothers if this era.

the fact that Hip Hop turns 47 today and I can talk to my daughter about City Girls, Megan, Cardi, and Nicki is dope. I love Hip Hop and all its done for me personally and professionally
