Can we talk about how this whole “African spirituality” is being marketed to us Black people? Spirits are being presented to our people in disguise of “connecting with your ancestors” thereby preying on the lack of connection to root in African Americans
Be careful before you accept these spiritual practices. Actually so your research and don’t sign up for something you don’t fully understand.
As a Yoruba woman, I will tell you a lot of this stuff, my ancestors (grandparents and parents) have told us stories about how they intentionally gave up these practices and turned to Christ.
As for me, I will not be signing myself up for something my ancestors fought to get out of. I am 100% proud of my culture, however there is a line between cultural heritage and worshiping another god.
Also you can practice mindfulness, self care and mental wellbeing without doing all the other spiritual stuff that have suddenly become attached to it. Pray for the spirit of discernment folks, a lot is happening in the spiritual ✊🏿
