Mark Scheifele says he's very, very lucky that his injury wasn't worse than it was. Thought he tore his Achilles and was done for six months. Was in a dark place for a bit. Got a second opinion, got more answers.
In terms of the hit, Scheifele says Tkachuk was a little out of control. Spoke with Tkachuk. "That's the way hockey is." Happy it's not as bad as it could have been. On the mend. Will be good soon.
Scheifele doesn't think the hit was intentional. Scheifele turned up at the last second. Says Tkachuk took ownership of it.
Scheifele looks at it as a knee-on-knee scenario. It's a fast-moving game. Just thankful it isn't as serious as it looked. Thought his career could have been over at the time. The worst part of it was the wait for getting answers.
Scheifele says he will be ready for next season. Not worried. Will be as good as knew very soon.

Nature of injury will keep Scheifele off the ice for a little bit.
Scheifele says he forgives pretty easily. Can hold a grudge sometimes, but parents raised him to forgive. Not going to affect his day-to-day lifestyle. Credits Tkachuk's worth ethic. Nothing he can do about it now.
Scheifele on the surreal season: Says the adversity will only make the team stronger. Stay positive, especially after pandemic began.
How far is this team from getting back to contender status?

When you lose as many guys as the Jets did, it's a pretty drastic change. A lot of game-breaking players lost. Totally different blue line. Says Pionk stepped up. Needs Heinola and Samberg to step up as well now.
Scheifele thought the bubble was an amazing set up in Edmonton. Varieties of food, courtyard area for players, lounge, etc.
Scheifele says he will be tuning in to every game going forward in the playoffs.
Scheifele says he turned to his love ones when he got injury. Mom had to take a walk when it happened. Thought the worst as well. Turned to Jets chaplain Lorne Korol as well. Had to turn his mentality around.
Dale Hawerchuk told Scheifele that watching the NHL is an education. You can learn something from watching world-class players every day.

He will be watching the playoffs.
Scheifele says there are a lot of question marks come free agency. Some guys need deals. Different team than they were from two years ago, but still thinks they aren't that far off. Hopefully, they can get some pieces in free agency.
Scheifele likes the #Flyers when it comes to a favourite to win the Cup. Likes their game. Carter Hart in net, will be a tough team to beat. Underrated blue line. Tough up front.
Vancouver is Scheifele's dark horse. Says they are starting to find their rhythm. Says that is going to be key in this tournament.
