This is going to sound like an Overheard tweet, I apologize in advance. @BlondeinKevlar knows someone who can verify this story though https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="😉" title="Zwinkerndes Gesicht" aria-label="Emoji: Zwinkerndes Gesicht">

I once on viewed a stabbing in one of our prominent nightlife locations. I was able to see the suspect fleeing on foot through the crowd. https://twitter.com/MusicNegrito/status/1292854420200333312">https://twitter.com/MusicNegr...
Being on a bike I was able to keep up and keep the eye fairly easy. The suspect rounded the block into a parking lot near a mini-mart where people line up to buy alcohol to pregame before going into the clubs.
I watch as the suspect tosses the knife in an attempt to discard it on the roof. He misses and it lands back on the ground about 15 ft away. I dismount and draw my gun and order him the the ground
He puts his hands up and starts the typical "I didn& #39;t do anything though" statement everyone who has just done something wrong says. Eventually he complies and prones out. I radio out that I have the suspect, & my location.
There are about 20-30 people in this lot who start shouting "He didn& #39;t do anything!", and from what felt like every angle began to converge on me and the suspect. People who had no idea this man had attemptee killed someone around the corner 1 block away.
I was by myself for only about 15 seconds before backing officers arrived & we took the suspect into custody. All the while people were telling me this man had done nothing wrong, despite me watching him stab another human.
The point is, forgive me if I take the crowds input lightly. I couldn& #39;t care less if some person I have never met told me that a person I am now dealing with "didn& #39;t do anything." Let me sort that out, you go stand over there and once where done here we can talk.
You& #39;re a witness, MAYBE, at that. You aren& #39;t his lawyer. We aren& #39;t arguing in court. This is a dynamic situation and your input at the moment is not needed. Continue to film and be a good witness.
The biggest irony about all of this, is that the man who was stabbed was saved by my partner, and a large crowd had gathered around him and other officers who were participating in the life saving efforts and actually accused them of shooting the man who had been stabbed.
I poop you not, a crowd of probably 200-250 began to encroach on the original scene and actually prevented the Fire Department from responding, because as you know, FD doesn& #39;t respond until the scene is safe. As this man lay bleeding to death on the street,
a big dumb drunk mob almost got him killed because they were too stupid to realize that the police were saving this man& #39;s life.
Moral of the story is just because someone says "I didn& #39;t do anything", doesn& #39;t mean they didn& #39;t do anything, and just because witnesses say "He didn& #39;t do anything" doesn& #39;t mean that the suspect didn& #39;t do anything. Don& #39;t interfere or hinder active and dynamic scenes.
And for the love of God, let fire into the scene.
