How many people have been waiting to hear Joe's VP announcement before volunteering to help his campaign?

I have. I'm drained from years of this battle. I need some good news.
Initially I wanted a progressive black woman for President. I was hoping Abrams would run. She is my favorite personality-wise. But she didn't announce, and as I got familiar with the resumes of the female candidates, I understood that Abrams resume didn't have the . . .
. . . necessary Administrative experience. She really needed to be Governor first, or head a federal department or work in Congress.

I didn't know much about Harris, but I had black friends warn their white friends broadly not to pick Harris because of her record in CA. . . .
I was suprised she didn't get more black support as a candidate and watched her, thinking the black opinion on her might change. But it didn't. So, her lack of black support validated my friends' concerns. I also always felt she was too reserved and too moderate for the moment.
I felt like we needed passion and a fighter.

Warren first came to my attention when McConnell kicked her out of the Senate for reading Coretta Scott King's letter. I loved that moment. I am a sucker for when people speak truth to power. I ALWAYS side with the little guy.
I like that bit of rebel facing off to unjustice. I'm a David fan in the David and Goliath fight. And when a David comes along willing to face Goliath for others? To fight injustice? Well, that is the top for me.
But I didn't know Warren's history or her policies. So, I dug into both. I learned she had a 40 year history of researching data to understand why Americans were going broke, and she understood the policies that made it so. She knew exactly why people of color where worse off.
She understood why two working adults are now worse off than families used to be with one working adult. She examined the data and traced it back to policy decisions in Congress. SHE KNOWS EXACTLY HOW TO FIX US.
And she shouted out about the last collapse before anyone else knew about it, because she saw the collapse coming in the data. But no one listened to her.

Then the collapse happened. And she knew that America needed a watch dog to keep the credit lenders from destroying us.
So she dreamed up the CFPB and fought for it, and built it. And she wasn't even a politician when she did it. She was a wonky professor trying to save America. The CFPB returned 12 BILLION dollars to 29 MILLION Americans, mostly POC and those in the same zipcode with POC.
And it turns out I was one of the 29 million families she had helped.

I had just bought my house in a minority community and my daughter got cancer. Then the real estate bubble burst. And the medical bills were mounting.

I tried to enter Obama's refinance program.
The credit lender wouldn't even answer the phone. I called and called to apply for the program.

And my daughter was dying. She had a blood clot in her head from the chemo and the doctors didn't know it. So, I was rushing her to the ER every few days and she was . . .
. . hospitalized for 10 days. And the headscans weren't covered by Insurance because they didn't see the clot . . . Until much later.

Meanwhile, I was eating cafeteria food at the hospital and my bank was slow to complete transfers I made from savings to checking . . .
Then they sorted debits smallest to largest and hit me with 25 dollar fees for $2 purchases when a transfer was pending. All told, that one stay in the hospital cost $750 in NSF fees.

And bills were still stacking up.
And my daughter was still dying. She hadn't eaten in . . .
10 days at that point.

Eventually the doctors found the clot after a Grand Mal Siezure and got her on blood thinners. She had to give herself a shot in the belly every day for 9 months. She was still fighting cancer.
And finally I gave up on trying to get the bank to respond to me. I had a pile of bills 1.5 feet high.

The real estate crash was still happening and I was under water. I filed bankruptcy and let the bank take the house. I moved to a small townhome and cared for my daughter.
My daughter survived cancer after 3 years of therapy that almost killed her. I moved south and a few years later checks started coming in the mail from my old mortgager

You see the CFPB was going after my mortgage lender for their evil ways. I also think I . . .
. . . got money back for Chase's evil way of handling the NSF fees. I saved those checks to use as a downpayment on a new house.

My daughter is 27 now and has high-functioning Autism. So, this house, or the money from it, will be hers one day. She will always need my support.
I owe the very roof over my head to Warren, a wonky professor who studied the data, and came to Washington to fix America.

I had no idea she was behind those checks until I was researching her as a Presidential Candidate.

She has already fought Goliath for us.
Of couse I want Warren as VP and as President and any other way I can have her. She is my champion. She is OUR champion and she has already won fights for us. She is ready to take on the whole damn corrupt system and she has receipts.
If Biden doesn't chose her, yes I will be disappointed. But please know it isn't because she is white. It is because she is who America needs right now.

I will still volunteer, but I will not have the same hope.
