Today marks three years since the violence in Charlottesville, VA began.

We’re suing the neo-Nazis, white supremacists, and hate groups responsible. As our suit details, this violence was no accident—it was the result of months of online organizing. https://www.integrityfirstforamerica.org/our-work/case/charlottesville-case
The Charlottesville attack was part of a vicious cycle of white supremacist violence in which each attack inspires the next, nearly always online. It was meticulously planned in online chats, down to discussions of hitting protesters with cars, which is exactly what happened.
Tomorrow marks 3 years since Heather Heyer was killed in Charlottesville by our defendant James Alex Fields Jr. when he drove his car through a crowd of peaceful counter-protesters.

We must continue to honor Heather’s memory & fight for justice for the city of Charlottesville.
Our plaintiffs are brave Charlottesville community members who were injured — targeted on the basis of their race, religion, and ethnicity or because they stood up for the safety and civil rights of others. Meet the plaintiffs: https://www.integrityfirstforamerica.org/our-work/case/charlottesville-case/plaintiffs
Our defendants are the two dozen neo-Nazis, white supremacists, & hate groups who planned this racially motivated violence in advance. We’re here to hold them accountable — and to put them out of business. Meet the defendants: https://www.integrityfirstforamerica.org/our-work/case/charlottesville-case/defendants
On August 11, 2017: Neo-Nazis and white supremacists marched with torches and surrounded a group of students and community members on UVA’s campus. They threw fuel and torches, chanting things like "Jews will not replace us," "blood and soil," and "this is our town now."
Last year, we chronicled the events of August 11 and 12, 2017 in real-time. Read this thread to learn about the key moments of this horrific two-day attack on an American city: https://twitter.com/IntegrityforUSA/status/1160520655881850882
August 12, 2017: Three years ago today, neo-Nazis and white supremacists marched military-style on Charlottesville, VA — shouting racist, homophobic, and anti-Semitic slurs and carrying swastikas and other Nazi symbols.
They charged through a line of interfaith clergy. They attacked and assaulted countless citizens. Later that day, our defendant James Alex Fields Jr. drove his car into a crowd of protesters — killing Heather Heyer and injuring countless people, including some of our plaintiffs.
With our lawsuit, we’re fighting back. This case is the only current legal effort to take on the vast leadership of the violent white nationalist movement — holding them accountable for the terror they brought to Charlottesville three years ago. https://www.integrityfirstforamerica.org/our-work/case/charlottesville-case
Three years ago, at 1:40PM on August 12, 2017, Heather Heather was killed in the horrific car attack by James Alex Fields Jr.

She was peacefully protesting for the safety and civil rights of others. Today, and every day, we honor Heather — and her brave mother @SusanBro7.
Many of our plaintiffs were injured in the horrific Charlottesville car attack. They’ve so bravely taken on the leaders of the violent movement who planned this weekend of violence. Read more about our plaintiffs in this thread: https://twitter.com/IntegrityforUSA/status/1291040934684250112
