Please be very cautious of the new 2020 Twitter accounts. When they follow you check a few things.

See how many follow them.

Do you see the “not followed by anyone you follow” message

Are they following a ton of verified accounts that seem random?

Thread
Does their tweet count seem low compared to follower count?

Does their tweet count seem high compared to their follower count?

Do most of their followers have a similar amount of follows and followings?

Did they start off from the start with an attacking or trolling behavior?
Does the account seem like it has got Twitter all figured out even though it is new?

Is it pushing Follow Back or I am X amount away from a wanted number of Follows.

Is it spamming? Constantly tweeting the same thing over and over tagging many accounts.
Does the proper name on the account not match the proper name of the @?

Does the account post a link to a website they are linked to but it resolves to nothing or you get a security warning.

Does the account constantly post with nonsensical grammar?
This is a terrible time to build a follower base with accounts that look suspicious.

The Bots and Trolls are kicking up and it will be unlike anything we have seen.
If you get a Bot Follow go through to their follows. Many times you will find a a load of similar accounts. Block them.

If you see a terrible post or retweet. Click to see if you follow or they follow you.
I will say it again. Before accepting an unknown follower ask yourself if they have content that matches yours. Is it an account you want to see daily in your timeline? Is it an account that will help amplify your messaging?
The next few months are critical. We need to up our game and keep as many bad accounts out of our collective timelines as possible.
