đŸ”„How to write a banging thread that people will read (maybe) and like (hopefully).đŸ”„

Thread (obviously) âŹ‡ïž
đŸ”„Simple, Impactful TitleđŸ”„

Don’t make your first tweet in the thread too long. The shorter the better with buzz words that get people’s attention.

A gif or a picture will also help to make your thread stand out on a timeline.
Quick Tip - Be Controversial

No one likes someone who sits on the fence. Mention something crazy in the first tweet to get people outraged and reading.

Even if your thread doesn’t even mention that thing again.

‘Rashford eats babies for nourishment’ is a good example.
đŸ”„Mention Big TeamsđŸ”„

Everyone likes chatting about the big boys. Any chats that include a Liverpool or Man Utd player is sure to get responses.

If you really want to go big, mention they might not be good next year. Instant likes and comments!
Quick Tip - Dismiss KDB

A big one. If you discuss ditching a high profile, well owned player you can be sure to get a tonne of replies from the twitter community.

If you’re worried about going all out on this, just say you won’t captain him. That’ll do the trick too.
đŸ”„Know Your gif GameđŸ”„

Gifs can make or break a good thread. When used properly they can sum up what you’ve said. When used badly they just distract.

Unless it’s essential, I would avoid. Unless it’s your thing, then go crazy.
Quick Tip - Practise Photoshop

No one can argue against what you’ve said if you’ve edited the stats. Just make sure you use the right font or people will know you’ve faked the data or your OR.

I obviously don’t condone this. This is tongue in cheek 😂
đŸ”„Length IS EverythingđŸ”„

Don’t make your thread too long or too short. Around 7-10 tweets is usually enough as long as it’s not waffle.

Too long and people don’t read it. Too short and people don’t think it’s worthwhile.
Quick Tip - Spell Check

Make sure to spell check your thread. There’s nothing worse than reading your thread back on the timeline and noticing a mistake.

Writing ‘lessons too lurn’ is never a good look.
đŸ”„Learn From The BestđŸ”„

The unofficial king of threads, @FPL_Swe, has been successfully doing them for quite a while.

I’d never condone copying someone, but read and see how he does it and try one of your own.
Quick Tip - Don’t Copy

Nothing worse than being found out for copying other people’s work. It’s actually something you might struggle to come back from.

Collaboration is better than imitation.
đŸ”„Be UniqueđŸ”„

Don’t write about what everyone else has already written. Another thread on ‘Fulham Left Back Options’ will make us all want to die a slow death.

Think about something that hasn’t been looked at and have at it.
Quick Tip - Know When To Post

If there isn’t much to say, then don’t tweet. We’re already saturated with content so you don’t want to be lost in the noise.

Also, never post on a Sunday. People are too busy tucking into their roast dinners.
đŸ”„Stats Can Be GreatđŸ”„

Go for stats if they’re your things but avoid if they’re not. Once you start on that path it’s hard to go back.

Equally the same with humour. No point trying to be funny if you’re not. That’s why I avoid it 😂
Quick Tip - Stats Need a Layout

Posting tonnes of numbers on a tweet can be confusing, so a screenshot of data in an easy to see format can be better.

Don’t be offended if people don’t like the numbers. Some people will never use data in FPL.
đŸ”„Emojis are friendsđŸ”„

Using emojis can really help your thread stand out but can also be off putting if used too frequently.

Use them as bullet points and be consistent. There are so many available. đŸ‘đŸ»đŸ‘ŽđŸ»đŸŠ”đŸ’ȘđŸ»đŸ€ŽđŸ»đŸ‘“
đŸ”„Don’t Tag EveryoneđŸ”„

Trust in your thread. I know it’s tempting to tag everyone in the hope for countless RTs but sometimes it’s better to put it out there and hope it gains natural traction.

It’s a steady climb.
Quick Tip - Don’t Be a Pest

On the same page as the last tweet, sliding into people’s DMs isn’t usually the best way to ask for RTs. Especially if you’re doing it for every thread.

If an account you know has now closed their DMs, you now know why!
đŸ”„Finish StrongđŸ”„

Finish with a conclusive tweet that also asks the community a question. This promotes engagement which, in the grand scheme of things, is what twitter is all about.

Then make sure to respond to people when they comment.
What do you guys think?
