Daamn!! I didn't expect that thread to blow up like that. I wish I could respond to every one of your mentions & DMs. Thank you all for the messages, the support, the love and the banters too😅. For those calling me and texting me, I am okay. I want to communicate a few things...
1. I did this thread to raise awareness, it's just one of many stories that many Kenyans are going through every single day and they don't have a platform to channel their experiences. From the replies it seems it's not a one-off thing.
2. As much as many people say why not start a business?? Many young people especially graduates are brilliant and have so many ideas but capital not so much. Many opt to seek employment to get their life together and save some capital to start investing and setting up businesses
and being self employed doesn't necessarily mean you're not struggling.
3. Those calling out privilege, I might be a little privileged that's why I am here tweeting about it. If I didn't quit, I would be trying to get some sleep to catch the next shift. So think of the not-so privileged still working in Industrial Area.
4. Take this opportunity to call out bad employers. If you have any bad experience feel free to share. It's about time we called out bad working conditions.
5. To young graduates: Don't give up yet. Infact, never give up. Better days are coming.
To students(especially UoN): Don't let that afternoon stop you from doing your side hustle. And keep in touch with things kwa ground.
6. For those sending opportunities my way. Thank you ❤️❤️🙏🏾🙏🏾 I really appreciate it. And if you know anyone in a bad situation and you can help them, please make sure you direct every help you get their way.
Finally. Keep your mask on, sanitise and hydrate🙏🏾🙏🏾❤️❤️
