1910: Country formed after war between british and afrikaners. Only white people can vote besides a small group of people of colour in the Cape. Vast majority of voters to appeal to are white. Government tries to unite formerly warring white people by promising them prosperity /2

Evil colonial laws like hut tax and poll tax were created to force black people to work in white economies for decades. In the new country, powerful afrikaner (boer) farmers lobbied for policies that benefited them, through land and cheap labour exploited from black people /3

1913: Land Act makes it illegal for black people to own/lease land outside of 'reserves'. This means 93% of all land in the country can only be used by white people. This hugely benefits white farmers /4

Early 1920s: Poor white majority afrikaans workers protest british dominance of big industry, mainly mining, and rise of skilled black labourers getting jobs

State pays for huge public works programs to make jobs for white people. e.g. Hartbeespoort Dam project hires 3400 /5

1924: (afrikaner) National Party (NP) comes to power for the first time, in coalition with Labour

NP pressure causes increased state budgets for subsidies to farmers

1925: Customs Tariff Act protects farmers by placing high tariffs on imported agricultural-related products /6

1925: Wage Act creates a minimum wage for white workers, but not black workers

Act provides incentives for white labourers when offering government tenders. The more white people your plan involves, the more likely you are to get the tender /7

1948: NP returns to power after years in the opposition. Formalized apartheid begins

State creates high tariffs on imports so that local industries can compete. State-run companies like Eskom, Sasol and Iskor (today ArcelorMittal) benefit, and prioritise hiring white people /8

1948 onwards: Apartheid government taxes big business and uses money to finance state-run companies that are run by afrikaners, and awards tenders to afrikaner-run companies. Purpose is to strengthen afrikaner capital and hire white workers in positions of power /9

1948 onwards: Apartheid state directs huge portions of budget to social grants and welfare programs for white people, while slashing funding for people of colour /10

1952: Urban Areas Act means black people need permission to be in urban areas. They cannot freely seek prosperity

1953: Industrial Conciliation Act means black people cannot be classified as employees, so they get no benefits, and cannot form recognised trade unions /11

1949: Apartheid government creates the Unemployment Insurance Amendment Act, which requires black people to be earning very high wages to qualify, much more money than most jobs the state allows black people to have

This means barely any black people get unemployment payouts /12

1950s + 1960s: pensions for black people reduced by state and held steady, meaning they lose value each year because of inflation

Pensions for white people double in real value in this time

State cuts funding for feeding schemes in black schools.
1960: All funding abolished /13

For decades, Apartheid state systemically increases resources for white school programs, specifically afrikaans schools, in order to help more white people become skilled workers

State underfunds black schools and only allows programs that teach basics for unskilled labour /14

1960s: SABC establishes african language radio stations. Becomes only means of mass communication to millions of black people

State gives afrikaner-run companies vast majority of advertising space, which gives them domination of sales to black population and makes them rich /15

There have also been many interest groups that started in the early 1900s that began Sanlam, Santam, Volkskas (ABSA) /16

And of course, go look up rampant white supremacist evil, including slavery, by brits and boers before South Africa existed

Descendants of british people collaborated with afrikaners to exploit black people even before the NP partnered with Labour to rule in the 1920s /17

Entrenched white supremacy in business did not end in 1994. People did not suddenly lose all that accumulated wealth and privilege. Those same companies remained the dominant players in the new South Africa

All white people have been uplifted by centuries of targeted aid /18

White economic empowerment built on subjugation and exploitation of black people has been the defining element of South Africa for centuries as a political agenda and state policy

To claim that this has been done away with or neutralised in 26 years is stunningly stupid /19
