if theres no reason to have a wheel chair in DnD because of healing magic, then theres also no reason to have glasses, eye patches, prosthetics, scars, medical bandages, or any signs of damage or disability

but we have them anyway because its neat & sets characters apart
and if the complaint is it's "not fantasy enough" I better not see you play any of the "like a human but-" races ever again. it's furry/scalie/avian town 24/7 from here on out buddy
and you can also make a character that just has a disability and not have it be a driving force in their motivation. a character can be blind or missing an arm or mute and NOT always be looking to be healed, because that's just part of who they are now, and it's okay
I guarantee Toph Beifong would be a VASTLY less interesting character if her blindness was ever healed.

"bUt tHaTs nOt ThE sAmE ShE UsEs hER bLInDnESs tO HeR AdvANtAgE"

so you agree then? that disabilities can be used to make interesting characters and skill sets?
I'm sorry for getting so much more heated about this than my usual activity.

but man.

fuck ablelism.
