Things public health directors had to shout for months for, but eventually got:

- any pillar 2 test data
- pillar 2 postcode level data
- pillar 2 patient identifiable data
- real time data
- localised track and trace set-up
- missed track and trace cases

Why the battle?
Not everything has been resolved, as per that ridiculous story I did yesterday on mobile testing units. But anyone would think trying to control local public health work from Whitehall doesn’t work 🤷‍♀️
There’s an interesting thing in here that’s really noticeable as someone who covers councils but finds the NHS harder. Public health directors are not bound by the same rules as their colleagues in NHS England. They can speak out. In fact they have a duty to. And...they do.
