Those who understand industry are busy learning & growing. Rest are busy teaching for monthly salary. Either of these parties don& #39;t care about educating you because it doesn& #39;t benefit them. You think you& #39;re important? No. You& #39;re loud, dumb, potential competition and a liability. https://twitter.com/philshwifty/status/1293062069336420352">https://twitter.com/philshwif...
Degree is a status symbol & a "safety net" because you are living your parents& #39; reality, where they saw people with degrees landing govt. jobs. Everyone gets same degree no matter difference in aptitude, hence in a privatised, global market; skills and results are sought after.
Universities celebrate your mediocrity & give you false sense of accomplishment because that keeps your baloon inflated but tied down as well. You& #39;re afraid of the market because if you& #39;re not cut for it, you& #39;ll be discarded; you& #39;d rather have a promised degree then put in work.
A friend in college used to say, it doesn& #39;t matter what you do from 9 am to 4 pm because everyone is doing that same thing, what differentiates you from the herd is how you utilise your time from 4 pm to 9 am.
University, the way it exists today, it& #39;s not going to teach you anything - if you& #39;re here for leaning might as well cut losses & quit. Personally, I stayed because I found value in the different people I met & how much I learned from them - their ideas, skills & perspectives.
You& #39;re stupid if you think you& #39;re paying just for your course. You& #39;re paying for opportunity to experiment, compete & rivalry. Simulation of the pressure of organising and finishing quality work, it& #39;s knowledge bank - professors & library. Exploring different people & ideas etc.
Artists get paid heavily, but you have to learn science & commerce behind the art industry. Truth is, you don& #39;t have skills or humility to navigate this market. If you don& #39;t come out of the university more humble than when you went in, you& #39;ve failed.
Start from ground zero if you must, take time to learn before wanting to capitalise on it - no problem in wanting money but if you get entangled in money & praise in a simulation (university), you& #39;ll fail miserably in the real world. Take responsibility and educate yourself.
