Hey - law students and recent grads! I know times are tough. And, also, some of you are finding out how much lawyers suck toward other lawyers.

Im so sorry! You 1Ls if you don't know yet, you will find out soon. Ouch. It sucks.

I just want to say one thing.

Keep fighting the man. As you are arguably becoming part of the man. Yes, you'll have this thrown in your face no matter what low ass posting public interest law job you do. Keep fighting!

Also, please remember when you tweet or speak to "ask the established lawyers"

We have been fighting too.

Some of us are dicks. Some of us are righteous. The righteous ones? We're not always right. We're often wrong. But we've been fighting too. For a lot longer than you have.

It doesn't mean you can't push back. It doesn't mean your ideas aren't

good. It does mean maybe you could have some empathy.

I'll give an example. I'm NOT CALLING ANYONE OUT.

I've seeing multiple attorneys saying established attorneys need to start advocating for bar privilege during a pandemic.

I FULLY SUPPORT BAR PRIVILEGE.

But do you know what my daily life looks like when you make blanket statements like that? Do you, as a soon to be lawyer, understand the crushing caseload of a murder attorney?

Do you understand that right now I took on extra cases our office is not staffed for b/c of covid?

And that those cases are habeas cases to save the lives of incarcerated people who don't have proper protections to save their lives while in prison?

Yeah, you shouldn't have to risk your life to take the bar. PLEASE KEEP MAKING NOISE ABOUT THAT! RAISE HELL.

Maybe don't send out lecturing tweets about how the established attorneys need to do more.

I was threatened with jail. Freaking jail. For not going to trial

During covid. With no safety precautions. And a covid exposed witness. And I have "underlying conditions".

I appreciate your voices. Established attorneys need to listen.
