Somi was first introduced to the gp through the surival show twice (2016.) She instantly became a fan favorite with her energetic performances and spunk. Although she made it to the shows finale she ultimately did not debut due to her young age.
A year later Somi would return to the limelight through yet another survival show, Produce 101. She became even more beloved by the public then before. She was classed into the a class then later the b class.
Somi would partake in many amazing perfomances most notably "Bang Bang" where she performed one of the killing parts lipsyncing to the high note in the chorus. 4 years later it is still regarded as the best performance throughout all seasons of the show
In the finale Somi not only made it into the debut group but also garnered the most votes becoming the center of ioi

On June 13 2019 Somi debuted as a solo artist with ep Birthday with the title track of the same name. Somi participated in the lyric writing on both of the tracks on the ep
More than a year later Somi would drop her second single what you waiting for. Again she participated in the creation of the track. On August 6th the song won first place on mcountdown marking her first ever solo win
Somi is unfairly painted by anti fans. Many people claim shes overrated and a flop comparing her to senior and ex group mate chungha. While both artists are simply amazing somi was been a solo artist for less time chungha understandably having less commercial success then her
A friendly reminder that somi got her win a year and a half after her debut while chungha had hers at over 2 years over her debut. Both girls are doing amazingly and its unfair to paint somi as less successful as both are doing amazing and working at their own paces!
End of thread!
