in SWANA (South West Asia & North Africa), too many cops/military personnel/criminals are left unpunished and I think it has a lot to do with the language we use.

Notice how in the US & Canada we all had to learn, or at least become familiar with the names of George Floydâs murders. They obviously werenât held accountable soon enough but everyone knew the specific target: X cops + the system
Now... this is just a theory or maybe just my lack of information from being in the diaspora, but I have no idea who murdered Ahmed Erakat at a checkpoint on the day of his sisters wedding nor who ordered to leave Ayman Safiahâs body for dead only 3 hours after he was drowned.
When weâre trying to resist an oppressor, shouldnât we know the names of who we need to hold accountable?
Idk if this would really change much considering in the west thereâs still a lot to be done, but I think it would be a step forward, no?
Wouldnât it be easier if we start by making the murders accountable instead of an entire system?
Obviously the goal is to change the entire system but we need to start by creating some kind of deterrent.
(To deter means to discourage a behaviour)

Ok this thread is getting longer than I expected
Anyway, I think one corrupt person at a time is definitely not enough but itâs better than a generalization that will just leave x murder out and about.
Let me know what yâall think, my dm is open for those who prefer that
