i need to rant about making the cut bc i wanted it to fill my project runway void but here is why it absolutely did not:
i should have known this going in because it’s produced by amazon and is on prime video, but the entire series feels like a capitalistic hellscape. maybe i’m not giving it a fair chance by comparing it to PR but
i’m watching the finale now and i feel like the primary motive for the judges is solely based on the clothing as a product, not as an expression of the designer as an artist.
literally every person that got voted off (no specific spoilers) was someone with a really unique style or artistic perspective, but they didn’t mAkE tHe CuT because their clothing wasn’t what amazon wanted to sell. the winner seems like they were groomed to win
the show got more and more boring throughout the season because it kept dwindling down to the designers that made the most basic kohl’s ass clothes that they could make money off of
i might continue this thread later because i have so many other problems with it, but i just think it is a great example of how capitalism affects art and creativity, send tweet
OK SKSJSKSKSK i just finished the finale and i did not think the person that won would win so disregard my comments about the winner. i’m a novice at this
