I'm afraid we've reached the point in the pandemic where politicians are reverting to their 2019 selves, when they assumed they could bully or bluff their way through any issue. That attitude was there in the premier's press conferences when we first went back into lockdown. 2/4

And it is certainly there now in the PM's refusal to accept any responsibility for the catastrophe in aged care. The City of Melbourne probably thinks this is just a big misunderstanding, and the premier and PM have nothing to do with them. 3/4

But the thing that binds all three tiers of government at the moment is impatience with public scrutiny. Please get over yourselves and get back to governing. 4/4
