Maybe Porochista can serve as a cautionary tale about how rising to fame by laying bare the depths of trauma and constantly reliving it is actually antithetical to the kind of growth trauma victims actually need
it& #39;s not a problem with having "victim mentality" - it& #39;s a business driven literature that assures ppl the best way to heal is to constantly publicly relive trauma. It& #39;s really sad & gross seeing someone believe trauma is the basis of insight
At the end of it, I can& #39;t blame her for this. I blame a media landscape that rewards disabled and chronically ill people by treating our lives as trauma parades and telling us we need to perform this. there& #39;s many great, radical #criplit authors who are healthy and driven
On the subject of trauma, the dastardly world of publishing, and the incredibly unhealthy media trends that push this, @NairYasmin puts it all so well thru Hannah Gadsby: https://bit.ly/30KPrre ">https://bit.ly/30KPrre&q...
