Anyone who tells you we should stop sending #PostcardsToVoters because it's adding to the stress of the USPS isn't thinking it through. First Class Mail volume has been trending down. Our fun, friendly election reminders do add up. But, it's not a blip on the USPS radar.

"Ok, but, what about when all these people start receiving ballots in the mail and then they have to mail them back?"

Our "share" in the new enrollee volume is but a fraction of all the new VBM requests being made. Whether we stop writing or not won't materially...

...increase mail volume in the system. Not to diminish our direct impact, but, given the scale of how much mail the USPS moves daily, it still will not be that big of a hit. Consider the mountain of other mail they deliver to every residential address anyway. Daily.

"Fine. But, I just don't feel right having any hand in increasing the mail load on those poor workers."

The hard-working men and women of the USPS, their unions, our elected Democratic officials, and other advocacy groups know how to stand up to bad policy. I trust them...

...to not let themselves get run over by some hand-picked mega donor with a penchant for pushing employees to the edge. He's got another thing coming with the USPS work force. They're not pushovers. They take their careers seriously. They believe in the mission.

The alternative is to play right into Trump's hands and force our voters to choose between life and voting. It's only going to get worse out there by November. And then, it will be too late to get our voters enrolled. Now is the time to enroll them. You're potentially...

...saving lives for each new FL VBM enrollee *while* saving our democracy.

I don't say that just for poetic effect. I mean it.

The voters you help to switch to voting in comfort from home will have one less risky exposure to face and bring home to their families.

Stick to the plan. We know it's working. The VBM enrollment advantage Democrats in Florida now enjoy over the GOP is of historic proportions. But, it's not nearly enough yet when you think of how many more voters could decide to stay home instead of venturing out in Nov.

Let's do our jobs to boost FL VBM enrollment and trust that others in our alliance to do their jobs and give the USPS workers the security and relief needed so that we can rely upon them as we have in the past.

Don't let the other side distract us. They don't have much...

...more to combat the massive effort we and other Democratic and progressive groups are mounting. But, if they can sow fear and doubt and undermine our own work from within, that's the only trick they have left that might work for them.

We're too clever for that.
