I feel like I should explain the experience of eating a double cheeseburger pie to everyone in full detail.
I was initially surprised by the weight, a very hefty pie. I bit through the crispy pastry and into the double patties, feeling the burst of cheese and meaty oil. Next it was the gerkins, mustard and tomato sauce that struck my pallette.
Overall I would compare the taste to a combination between a cheeseburger and a Big Mac wrapped in delicious pastry. But after several bites my pace began to slow. I realised how much of a battle I was facing. My body asked what abomination I was inflicting on it.
Yesterday you went for a run, my body said, and now this? What kind of monster are you? But I pushed through to the meaty and cheesy end. You're not the boss of me cardiovascular system. I finished the pie and felt both glowing and closer to death.
Was it worth it? Yes, and in a completely equal amount that is causing me severe cognitive dissonance, no.
