I remember but never sure what really happened. I never heard the person side of it, for all I know they really were stressed at home, + in need of a car. I live in an area of the US where if you don’t have a car, you are pretty much on Mars. No bus line or train, for many miles. https://twitter.com/lilbittysherb/status/1292955914056728576">https://twitter.com/lilbittys...
I saw some Facebook posts that felt rather invasive to be honest given that they were very young adult aged, black, and recently out member of our community. It does not sound implausible that he might not be as forthcoming on Facebook where family can see you + your posts, imo.
Maybe they really was being forced out of their home and about to be homeless. Maybe they really needed the money for a car. Either of those things can be life or death depending on how many basic needs you have that we take for granted.
Because we often run ppl off of this site by accusing them of scamming or whatever else we think is offensive enough to call one another out on, sometimes ppl just run away and let whatever narrative perceived stand as true and that’s unfortunate, honestly. Imo anyway.
I wish they would have felt comfortable coming back on here to explain the Facebook posts that were circulating that were giving those who donated pause. Ultimately idk what circumstances surround that person’s existence outside of who they presented to be in this community.
Linking a thread about this situation that I was talking about. A mutual knew full context and linked me to this. Very sad read. I hate that ppl would do that and then not even come and apologize or refund ppl money :/
