stop putting trigger warnings on food and people’s bodies. lol
youre all a bunch of enablers of disordered eating and body dysmorphia if you continue to do this after being told not to. food and bodies aren’t something that need to be hidden from view and if you feel uncomfortable seeing either of those things please seek professional help
one excuse I see is “people in recovery from an ED might be triggered...” no. shut the fuck up. shut up. literally the entire point of eating disorder recovery is feeling comfortable around those things. if someone tells you to tag that for their recovery, they aren’t in recovery
do any of you know what an eating disorder ward looks like? it’s a full time live in job where you are forced to talk and think about food all day every single day. the nurses don’t feed you pizza with a blindfold on and hope your mental illness goes away.
tw: self harm
and I’d like to say.... please do not come into my mentions comparing food and self harm. do you hear yourself? do you hear the ideas that you’re pushing?
having an eating disorder means food is on your mind 24/7. I mean, you wake up, and you’re thinking about food. you’re at work and school, all you can think about is food. you go to sleep and you dream about food. a common symptom of some eating disorders is obsessive cooking and
baking for a reason. when all you are capable of thinking about is food your hobbies are going to reflect on that. a lot of the people I see pushing this “tag food and body image” culture are young and usually have never been exposed to people who have been recovery.
a lot of people don’t even know what eating disorder recovery looks like, and that’s okay. you dont need to know. PLEASE, please, please, stop listening to only people with active eating disorders about what hurts and helps recovery. I promise, it’s not productive.
I’m not debating anyone on this. I’ve heard any argument against what I’m saying a thousand times. I sincerely hope at least one person will hear what I’m saying and take it to heart.
explaining why it’s actively harmful to tag food
for the person that called me a classist for recommending professional help??? congratulations on missing my entire point if that’s what you gathered from my thread
