Today at the Starbucks drive-thru, my 5 year old who lives with Tourette Syndrome told the young lady working that she is beautiful. She was tickled and told him he is super cute. In his excitement, my son replied by ticcing, “I like eating boobs!”

That’s ok. It can be kind of funny for people on the outside looking in. I can tell you that it is not funny for my kiddo, who at 5 already wishes he was “normal”.

There is no money for an adult EA to help him remain calm by taking him for movement breaks, so his involuntary tics will become more frequent, intrusive, maybe physical. My son has a charter right to be included in school. But I can’t send him without proper support. 3/
