The Democratic Party has proven to me, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that it doesn’t have the American people’s best interest in mind — and in its current ideation, never will.

That’s why I will not vote for Joe Biden, in spite of the fact that Donald Trump is the “greater evil.”
I thought after Clinton’s loss, in 2016, they would move left. I thought that the only reason they didn’t endorse single-payer healthcare, and tackle wealth inequality and criminal justice reform was that those policies weren’t popular — but I found out they are.
Fast forward to 2018, the Democratic Party barely regained the House and lost more Senate seats, putting an end to that “Blue Wave” fantasy.

I couldn’t believe they re-elected Nancy Pelosi as Speaker. It was the first clear evidence that they learn any lessons from 2016.
They didn’t budge at all on policy.

They doubled down on the same agenda, and same talking points that led to a 10 year losing streak for the Democratic Party — corporate welfare veiled in performative identity politics. They offered no counterpoint Trump.
But I believed that 2020 would be different. After all, they had 4 years to develop a strategy to stop Donald Trump’s overt fascism. Despite the evidence to the contrary, I thought the Democratic Party represented an America free from systemic racism and inequity.
Instead, they took their masks off.

They did everything in their power to stop Bernie again and prop up Biden. They refused to endorse a single progressive policy — and worse yet, during a pandemic, and after George Floyd’s execution, they’ve double down on our failed systems.
They don’t care about us — they care about power and they haven’t lost any. They have no intention of addressing the root causes of inequality in America.

If Trump destroys the country, so be it. I have a hard time believing it’s worth saving anymore.
Our government doesn’t represent the people — they represent the most palatable form of oppression that the people will endure.
