For the record, everyone’s looking at this and seeing Pete Buttigieg, I’m seeing possibilities from Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, crossing the border to throw folks off the scent. https://twitter.com/adamwren/status/1292932633966649346
Also, for those sleuthing, there’s a curveball in the mix. Who flies them is totally random. I went through Biden Campaign FEC filings and they used a broker (that doesn’t own any aircraft directly) to arrange their recent private air travel.
In 2008, it wasn’t the candidate that was on the plane, it was the advance team prepping Biden for the Obama announcement. The plane then flew on to Scranton (Biden’s birthplace) and on to Denver for the convention.
It’s not just Wilmington for arrivals. There are at least three airports you should be watching for. KILG, KGED, KMIV. Really anything with a runway longer than 2,500-3,000 feet within 90-120 minutes from Biden.
Also, there’s no guarantee that the VP pick will be appearing with Biden immediately. The campaign is principally based in Philadelphia, so you will look for departures from surrounding airports there as well.
There are any number of permutations for arrivals and departures, but broadly speaking a team would have to be dispatched to the VP pick before an announcement.
Also, if you’re at an airport FBO and you see something interesting. My DMs are open or drop me a line on Signal.
